After several years of hard work, Erik Jagroep delivered a wonderful PhD dissertation entitled “Green Software Products”. His PhD defense will be on September 18, at 14:30. His research was sponsored by Centric, for which he works as an external PhD student. Erik’s research focused to gain insight in the energy consumption of software products. In recent years sustainability and the focus on energy consumption increased attention, but software, the true consumer of energy, is often ignored. In his work, he defines ways to create instrument software to measure energy consumption, and to translate these in terms of software architecture.
